It was quite a night for East Ridge sophomore Logan Havermann at the Class 2A state swim and dive meet at the University of Minnesota.
Havermann set a new Class 2A record, swimming the 200 yard individual medley in 2 minutes, 0.06 seconds to win one of her two state titles Saturday evening. Havermann needed to swim fast, as that new class record was just enough to edge St. Michael-Albertville senior Lily Van Heel by just two tenths of a second.
Havermann also won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1 minute, 2.47 seconds. That was good for a 1.5 second victory, and also automatic All-American honors.
The sophomore was also part of the Raptors’ 200-yard medley relay team that placed third.
Minnetonka won the meet with 325 points, with Edina coming in second. The two teams tied the first event of the evening, the 200-yard medley relay.
Skippers junior Lydia Cameron won the 200-yard freestyle for the Skippers, and came in second in the 500-yard freestyle.
