The Minnesota Timberwolves game scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Target Center was postponed until Sunday, the NBA announced. The decision was made hours before tip off.
The news came in the wake of a man being shot to death by federal immigration officers Saturday morning just a couple miles away from the Wolves’ home arena.
“The decision was made to prioritize the safety and security of the Minneapolis community,” the league said in a statement.
Sunday’s tip time is 4:30 p.m. The Warriors and Wolves will play a back to back Sunday and Monday, with both games played in Minneapolis.
