An Oakdale middle school teacher has been charged with one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a child under 13.
Ho Tu Duong, 46, of Maple Grove, allegedly abused a minor from 2019 to 2022 at a St. Anthony home, according to the complaint in Hennepin County District Court.

Duong is a math teacher at Skyview Middle School in Oakdale. The North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale school district said he began teaching in August 2011.
A letter to parents said he is on administrative leave and “cannot be on school district property or have contact with students.” The letter also said the alleged abuse had no connection with the school or school district.
According to the criminal complaint, Duong abused the girl when he stayed the night to watch her while her mother worked. Duong allegedly told the girl that if she said anything about the abuse he would kill her mother, the complaint said.
Duong had his first court appearance Friday. He is currently in custody on $200,000 bond. He is next scheduled to appear in court May 22.
