Volunteer musicians ranging in age from their 20s up to their 80s will take the stage alongside high school students for a free concert this weekend.

The Rosemount Community Band will play its annual free, collaborative concert with the Rosemount High School Wind Ensemble on Sunday.

The community band includes adult musicians with a variety of skill levels from Rosemount, Apple Valley, Eagan and other south metro areas, according to a news release from the band.

Directed by Tom Maeck, the community band was established in 2011 and is entirely volunteer-based.

With more than 60 members, the community band gives musicians out of high school and college an opportunity to perform and maintain their skills. Members of the band hold occupations in fields ranging from sales and education to engineering, accounting and computer programming.

The free concert is 2 p.m. Sunday, March 16, at the Rosemount High School Performing Arts Center, 3335 W. 142nd St.
