Business People: Land O’Lakes’ CEO Beth Ford joins Business Roundtable board

Beth Ford

The Business Roundtable, a national association of chief executives, announced that Land O’Lakes CEO Beth Ford was named chair of its Immigration Committee. Land O’Lakes is an Arden Hills-based dairy co-op and national provider of branded grocery store dairy products. Ford is the only Minnesota-based CEO on the board this year.

ADVERTISING/PUBLIC RELATIONS

Weber Johnson Public Affairs, an Edina-based public relations and government lobbying firm, announced Phil Stalboerger will become partner and Richard Larkin McLay, director of operations.

EDUCATION

Summit Academy OIC, a Minneapolis-based nonprofit Career and Technical Education Institute, announced the hire of Alex Tittle as director of workforce solutions, leading career placement initiatives. He previously was equity director for the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority during the construction and opening of U.S. Bank Stadium.

FEDERAL RESERVE

The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis announced that Laura Clark and Andrea Walsh have been elected to its board of directors for terms beginning Jan. 1. Clark is president and CEO of Opportunity Bank, based in Helena, Mont. Walsh is president and CEO of HealthPartners, a Bloomington-based health insurer and health care provider; she also was an assistant commissioner at the Minnesota Department of Health. The Minneapolis Fed’s Ninth District covers Northern Plains states from Montana to the upper portions of Wisconsin and Michigan.

Northwestern Mutual, a national financial planning firm, announced it has relocated its Twin Cities offices to 701 Xenia Ave. S. Suite 600, Golden Valley.

HEALTH CARE

Essentia Health, a Duluth-based operator of hospitals and clinics, announced the following additions to its board of directors: Sister Therese Carson, St. Scholastica Monastery; Dr. Patrick Courneya, HealthPartners (retired); Frank Frederickson, Minnesota Power; LeAnn Littlewolf, American Indian Community Housing Organization; David McMillan, University of Minnesota, Minnesota Power; Tim Pawlenty, former governor of Minnesota, and Dr. Sandeep Wadhwa, 3M Health Information Systems, Denver.

LAW

The Minnesota Judicial Branch announced that Second Judicial District Administrator Heather Kendall and Senior Judge Kathryn Messerich received the Chief Justice Award for their role as co-chairs of the oneCourtMN Hearing Initiative Steering Committee. … Moss & Barnett, Minneapolis, announced that construction law attorney Aaron A. Dean was selected as chapter attorney for the Minnesota Subcontractors Association, a trade group.

MANUFACTURING

MDI (Minnesota Diversified Industries), a Minneapolis nonprofit maker of plastic container products for business, announce the appointment of James Pierce as chief information officer, a new position. Pierce most recently served as CIO at Salo, a Minneapolis-based professional staffing services firm. MDI offers manufacturing job opportunities for people with disabilities.

MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY

AngioInsight, a Minnetonka-based developer and provider of medical imaging technologies, announced the appointment of Scott Burger as chief executive officer. Burger has previously held senior executive healthcare positions at Elucid, CorVista Health, HeartFlow and Johnson & Johnson.
