St. Paul police investigators are looking into the sudden death of a 1-year-old on Wednesday afternoon.
About 1:30 p.m. officers were called to the 1000 block of 5th Street East where a child was not breathing, said St. Paul police spokesman Sgt. Toy Vixayvong.
St. Paul fire medics transported the child to Regions Hospital where the child was pronounced dead.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the child’s death, Vixayvong said.
The Ramsey County medical examiner’s office will perform an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
The investigation is active and no more information was available on Wednesday night.
