Ikea, the popular Swedish furniture maker, has announced it will remain in Roseville and expand its offerings.

The permanent store, called Ikea Roseville Plan & Order Point, will showcase pieces like cabinet fronts, kitchen knobs and closet systems and allow customers to meet with Ikea team members to plan and order home furnishing solutions, according to a company news release.

Roseville welcomed Ikea earlier this year with a pop-up showroom, marking the retailer’s second Minnesota location.

“After operating a successful pop-up store at Rosedale Center since February of this year, we’re thrilled to expand and offer a dedicated experience that meets the needs of our customers,” said Sanjay Kumar, market manager for IKEA Minneapolis, in the Dec. 3 release.

Starting Dec. 13, shoppers can get help with planning, arrange for delivery, schedule orders and pick up their purchases from the Rosedale Center at 1595 Minnesota 36.

A celebration will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at the store and feature tours, giveaways and samples, per the release.

“We have been testing different store formats to enhance customer convenience, make home delivery more cost-efficient and reach our customers where they live, work and socialize,” said Javier Quiñones, CEO and chief sustainability officer of Ikea U.S., in the release.

For the traditional Ikea experience, shoppers can travel to Bloomington where, across from the Mall of America, the state’s only full-sized Ikea spans 330,000 square feet and includes a 380-seat restaurant.

The retailer reported record sales in 2023 totaling $6.3 billion of goods and services, which it said was a 6.6% increase compared to the previous year.
