Election officials certified results of a ballot recount Wednesday that confirmed Arden Hills council candidate Kurt Weber’s earlier lead.
In Arden Hills, the top two vote-getters from the Nov. 5 election head to the city council. Candidate Brenda J. Holden won a seat with 2,561 votes. Close results for Weber, who received 2,045 votes, and David Radziej, with 2,040, led to a publicly-funded ballot recount on Wednesday. The recount process began Tuesday. Following the recount, Weber and Radziej’s vote counts remained the same.
Meanwhile, a recount for District 7 Ramsey County commissioner seat is still underway after candidate Kelly Miller received 28 more votes than her opponent Sarah K. Yang.
Under state law, a candidate for a county, municipal, or school district office may request a publicly-funded recount if they lost by less than 0.5% of the total votes if there are more than 400 but fewer than 50,000 votes cast.
