Minnesota’s defense stifled Oregon State’s outside shooting, and the Gophers remained unbeaten by beating the Beavers 73-38 on Saturday in the Briann January Classic in Tempe, Ariz.

OSU fought back to tie the game at 13-13 before Minnesota went on an 8-0 run to take a 21-13 lead. They padded their advantage into a 30-30 halftime lead.

Following intermission, Minnesota pushed the lead to 44-30 before going on an 8-0 run, and the Gophers finished the third period with a 52-36 edge.

The fourth quarter was all Gophers, as their 17-0 run turned the game into a blowout.

Minnesota will cap off its Tempe trek with a game against Southern Methodist today at 1 p.m.
