The recharged version of metal band Linkin Park and arena newcomers Tyler Childers and Tate McRae have announced local tour stops in the new year.

Linkin Park, with new lead singer Emily Armstrong, will headline Minneapolis’ Target Center on Aug. 27. Tickets go on sale at noon Nov. 21 through Ticketmaster.

Friends Mike Shinoda, Rob Bourdon and Brad Delson began performing together as California high school students in the late ’90s. They played for several years with varying lineups before taking on vocalist Chester Bennington and landing a deal with Warner Bros. Records under the Linkin Park moniker.

The band’s 2000 debut “Hybrid Theory” topped 12 million in sales, making it one of the best-selling albums of the ’00s. It also gave the band their first of a long stream of rock radio hits with “One Step Closer,” “Crawling,” “Papercut” and Linkin Park’s breakthrough smash “In the End.”

Linkin Park went on to release seven more best-selling albums and toured extensively, including four stops at St. Paul’s Xcel Energy Center and a 2014 show at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand, the original lineup’s final concert in the state.

In 2017, Linkin Park had toured South America and Europe in support of their album “One More Light” when Bennington died by suicide on July 20, a week before the planned start of the North American leg. The group canceled all shows and, that October, held a tribute show to Bennington at the Hollywood Bowl.

The following year, Shinoda tweeted that “I have every intention on continuing with LP, and the guys feel the same. We have a lot of rebuilding to do, and questions to answer, so it’ll take time.” Shinoda, bassist Dave Farrell and DJ/synth player Joe Hahn later began working on new music in private and met Dead Sara vocalist Armstrong later in 2019.

In 2023, the surviving original lineup, save for drummer Rob Bourdon, began recording what would become the album “From Zero” with Armstrong. Two months ago, they officially announced their comeback and issued the single “The Emptiness Machine,” which topped Billboard’s mainstream rock singles chart. Guitarist Delson worked on the album, but has chosen to sit out the upcoming tour, where his role will be filled by Alex Feder.

Kentucky native Tyler Childers will mount his most extensive tour to date next year, including an April 9 stop at Target Center. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Nov. 22 through Ticketmaster. In an effort to thwart scalpers, tickets are mobile-only and may only be resold through Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange.

Childers grew up in the same county as fellow country musicians Chris Stapleton, Loretta Lynn and Crystal Gayle, while his friend and fellow performer Sturgill Simpson is from nearby. He released his first album, “Bottles and Bibles,” in 2011 at the age of 19.

He found his first success with 2017’s “Purgatory,” which was co-produced by Simpson. In the years since, he has continued to build an audience through new music and touring. Childers has earned seven Grammy nominations, including best country album for his 2023 release “Rustin’ in the Rain,” which made it to No. 4 on Billboard’s top country albums chart.

McRae began dance lessons at the age of six, when her family was briefly living in Oman due to her father’s job. Two years later, she returned to Canada and furthered her studies at the training school for the Alberta Ballet Company. She went on to perform with various American dance troupes and, in 2016, made it to third place on “So You Think You Can Dance.”

The following year, McRae began posting her own original songs on her YouTube channel, which was previously devoted to dance videos. Her track “One Day” earned the attention of nearly a dozen record labels. She signed with RCA in 2019 and released her breakthrough single “You Broke Me First” the following year.

In the time since, McRae found further success with “You,” “She’s All I Wanna Be,” “10:35,” “Greedy” and “Exes.” McRae, who co-writes all her material, has garnered more than 11.6 billion career streams.
