It didn’t take long for the Vikings to find a replacement for injured left tackle Christian Darrisaw.

After learning that they have lost Darrisaw for the remainder of this season, the Vikings worked fast to acquire veteran left tackle Cam Robinson in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars. A source confirmed the trade to the Pioneer Press on Tuesday night shortly after NFL Network broke the news

The full terms of the deal include the Vikings getting Robinson, as well as a conditional 2026 seventh-round pick that can go away based on playing time, and the Jaguars getting a conditional 2026 fifth-round pick that can become a fourth-round pick based on playing time.

The aggressiveness displayed by general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah here is proof that the Vikings are still heavily invested in this season as they head into the seemingly easy portion of their schedule with a 5-2 record.

The assumption is that Robinson will be able to play when the Vikings host the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday night at U.S. Bank Stadium.

The injury to Darrisaw occurred on Thursday night at SoFi Stadium as the Vikings suffered a 30-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He got rolled up on shortly before halftime while still engaged in a block. He collapsed to the ground in pain and had to be helped off the field by the trainers.

Though the Vikings were initially hoping for good news, head coach Kevin O’Connell confirmed less than 24 hours later that Darrisaw suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and torn medial collateral ligament in his left knee.

The addition of Robinson provides the Vikings with an experienced player to protect the blindside of veteran quarterback Sam Darnold moving forward. In total, Robinson has made 91 starts in his career, and his massive 6-foot-6, 335-pound frame will be a welcomed addition to the offensive line.

This is more than likely a rental for the Vikings with Robinson’s contract set to expire after this season.
